Base: 4 feet wide
Materials: Wood, skateboard, 4 40 lbs. bags of salt, 15 RC paper prints, griptape, wheels, spray paint.
This was a sculptural and performance piece from March of 2007 in which, following the footprints of griptape, the viewer stood on the skateboard and rotated the object, in turn animating the pictures.
As the object spins faster and faster it leans out of control more and more, eventually flinging one of the bags of salt at my teacher.
While the shotty construction of this object may not be apparent from these photos, it is very obvious in real life, and important to the work.
